The Buffalo Policed Department has reported a rash of incidents where women have been robbed of their earrings. The thieves appear to favor large gold hoop earrings. (Good taste)

Buffalo’s finest did have a wise suggestion as to how to deal with this matter. Their recommendation — Women should be careful.

Wife Found Out About Police Chief’s Girlfriend’s Earrings and Shoots Him

The Chief of Police in Fort Lauderdale bought his girlfriend a pair of earrings. The wife found out and shot the chief with his own 9mm Beretta. She missed and got sentenced to 9 months in jail. No word as to whether the girlfriend liked the earrings.
Originally the chief told his wife that he had bought the other woman an “inexpensive” Christmas gift. Then the wife found out that the “inexpensive” gift cost more than the present the chief to her.

Earrings Designer Sues for Copyright Infringement

Milord & Associates reports on their intellectual property blog:

Jewelry designer David Rasnick has sued Jewelry and Minerals of Las Vegas for copyright infringement. Rasnick has been designing jewelry for over 20 years and designed a teardrop shaped humpback whale loop earring… Rasnick alleges that “Defendant has sold unauthorized and infringing copies of the humpback whale earring, which bear a design that is substantially similar to the humpback whale earring at retail.

So what do we learn from this? Don’t knock off other people’s stuff!

A Meditation on Gold Hoop Earrings

She writes, learned to love jewelry because of my compadres and my grandmother…But gold hoop days are my favorite. The hoops in this photo were a gift from my Tia. I wear my hair loose, curls abound. Or taut and pulled back into a fierce pony tail with my burgundy specs.. Either way, I feel free, inspired, and writerly. I want to sit at coffee shops and scribble in my journal (as I was doing in this photo). Or go on a date with my husband and stare at him over sassy beverages.
